Five rooms, a green courtyard, and a very easy welcome.

Villa Amara is a little guesthouse tucked just off the lantern-lit walk of Fisherman's Village — close enough to hear the night market, quiet enough to sleep with the windows open.

We kept it small on purpose. Rooms are cool and uncluttered, dressed in rattan, linen and warm teak, with strong showers, proper air-con and coffee you'll actually want in the morning. Breakfast is fruit, eggs and something from the bakery, taken under the frangipani. When you want the beach, it's a two-minute stroll to the sand.
